Job Summary

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will serve as the second-in-command, responsible for overseeing the company's daily operational and administrative functions, translating the CEO's strategic vision into actionable plans and processes, and ensuring operational excellence across all production, supply chain, and distribution channels. This role requires a dynamic leader with extensive experience in the FMCG/food industry, a strong focus on efficiency, quality control, and regulatory compliance within the Jordanian and regional markets. 

Key Responsibilities

Operational Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement operational strategies, plans, and procedures that align with the company's short-term and long-term objectives for growth and profitability.

Production & Quality Assurance: Oversee all food production operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality control and compliance with national and international health, safety, and food industry regulations.

Supply Chain & Logistics Management: Manage and optimize the entire supply chain, including sourcing, procurement, warehousing, and transportation, to enhance efficiency, minimize waste, and reduce costs.

Financial Acumen: Collaborate with the CFO and finance department on budget management, capital investments, and financial forecasting to ensure fiscally sound decisions and achieve investor targets.

Team Leadership & Culture: Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing cross-functional team, fostering a positive company culture and ensuring effective recruitment, professional development, and retention strategies.

Process Improvement & Technology Integration: Identify and implement process enhancements, technology, and automation to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and drive innovation.

Risk Management & Crisis Planning: Proactively assess operational risks and develop robust contingency and crisis management plans to ensure business continuity in the face of supply chain disruptions or other incidents.

Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, vendors, and government authorities in Jordan and the wider Middle East region. 

Required Qualifications and Skills

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in operations management or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior executive leadership role within the food, beverage, or FMCG industry.
  • Proven track record of driving operational growth and efficiency in an emerging market environment, ideally within the Middle East.

Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field is required.
  • An MBA or a relevant Master's degree is highly preferred.

Skills:

  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with data analysis and performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and business management software tools.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic, with strong interpersonal and public speaking capabilities.
