Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy and Vision: Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy and roadmap that aligns with the bank's overall business objectives and supports digital growth.
Digital Transformation: Lead digital transformation initiatives, such as the modernization of core banking platforms, integration of Fintech solutions, and development of digital banking channels (e.g., mobile apps, online services) to enhance customer and employee experience.
IT Infrastructure and Operations: Oversee all technical aspects of the organization, including systems architecture, software development, network infrastructure, data management, and data centers, ensuring high performance, availability, and scalability.
Cybersecurity and Risk Management: Establish and maintain robust IT security systems and protocols to protect customer data and the bank's assets from cyber threats, ensuring compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
Innovation and Emerging Technologies: Identify, evaluate, and integrate emerging technologies like AI, cloud computing (e.g., AWS, Azure), and blockchain to gain a competitive edge and optimize operational efficiency.
Leadership and Team Management: Attract, develop, and mentor high-performing technology teams, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration across departments.
Budget and Vendor Management: Create and manage the technology department's budget, optimizing resource allocation and negotiating service level agreements with internal and external technology vendors and partners.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all technology initiatives and operations comply with the Central Bank of Jordan's (CBJ) regulations and other relevant local laws and compliance frameworks.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related engineering field is required. A Master's degree (e.g., MBA with a focus on technology management or a Master's in Computer Science) is often preferred.
Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in IT, software development, or technology leadership roles.
At least 5 years in a senior management/executive position within a reputable organization, preferably in the banking or financial services industry in Jordan or the broader Middle East.
Proven track record in leading large-scale technology projects, digital transformation initiatives, and managing significant IT budgets.
Technical Skills: Deep understanding of current and emerging technologies including software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps), cloud-native technologies, data analytics, cybersecurity practices, and core banking platforms.
Soft Skills: Strong leadership, strategic thinking, decision-making, communication (both Arabic and English), and problem-solving abilities are essential for collaborating effectively with C-suite executives, technical teams, and external stakeholders.
Certifications: Relevant professional certifications such as PMP, ITIL, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISM, or CISSP are advantageous.
