Key responsibilities
Financial management: Direct and oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and cash flow management.
Strategic planning: Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute financial strategies that support the company's business goals and drive profitability.
Budgeting and forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and provide regular financial forecasts to track performance against strategic targets.
Performance analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization and improved performance.
Risk management: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Project finance: For companies involved in large projects, particularly Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects, the role may include overseeing project budgets, tracking costs, and managing contracts.
Stakeholder relations: Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
Qualifications and skills
Experience: Typically requires 10–15+ years of experience in finance, with significant time spent in a managerial capacity within the oil and gas industry.
Education and certifications:
Technical skills: Proficiency with advanced ERP systems (like SAP), financial modeling, and business intelligence tools (such as Microsoft PowerBI) is essential.
Leadership skills: The ability to lead, mentor, and manage a team of finance professionals is a key requirement.
Industry knowledge: A deep understanding of the oil and gas sector is necessary to navigate the industry's specific financial challenges, including commodity price volatility, capital-intensive projects, and regulatory complexities.

Location: The role is based in Qatar, a major global hub for the energy industry
Reporting: This is a senior-level position that reports to a Finance Director/ CFO
Salary Range QAR55-65K
